Lily the Lily is so very sweet........and wow what a busy weekend!
hehe
I did get my hair cut last week, Friday to be exact. I told her I wanted it dusting my shoulders, thinking it would be about three inches or so. Wow, who knew I had so much hair? Five inches later, I WAS NO LONGER FRUMPY! I call what I had going on "mountain woman hair". Where you just grow your hair out long for the main purpose of having long hair. Long hair is not very conducive to natural blonde, fine strands. Makes you look limp and blah. SO, I am proud to report that I HAVE BIG HAIR AGAIN!! My beloved deceased southern matriarchs may not go back to resting peacefully.
I had a great mother's day. The kids did the sweetest things and I'm trying to scan them now.
This is one of my favorites. It is from a book Brady made for me where he answered little questions about his mother. When he is sick, I make him feel better by giving him medicine. What I love though, is the little arrow pointing to him that says "Me Barfing". How descriptive!
And, armed with my bachelors degree in Home Economics, my baby thinks I make the best hot dogs in the whole world! ~grins~ take THAT Martha Stewart!
This is what my little Katy did for me.
Its so precious, she did a great job on it! I love all the happy faces.
My sister in law, Stacey, and I went out on Mother's day. Goodness, where all did we go? Lord I have no idea, we were all over the place and just a yapping away the entire time. I didn't realize how long it had been since I had actually participated in one on one conversation with a friend for more than a few minutes. We decided it was likely last December when she and I got up at four a.m. to go Christmas Shopping and found ourselves at the Steak and Shake eating greasy burgers by nine.
I got a new tennis racquet this weekend. OMG I love it! The grip is fabulous!!! I'm having issues with actually being able to grip with my right hand, iron man I am not. So, this should help. Sucks to get old. This is a mixture of carpel tunnel and arthritis - which runs rampant in my family. Just don't look for a firm handshake from me :P.I've lined up two tennis partners, from the good old days of my avid (albeit pathetic) tennis passion. Hopefully, they are still as bad of players as we all were back then. No fun playing with someone who does it well! I did take tennis in college, so I know how to keep score at least. "Love means nothing", first lesson our teacher taught us. lol.
Tried a few new recipes this weekend, but it was mostly very down home southern food and I'm trying to decide if y'all would read them or think we're all freakier than you already do!
May post them later!
I SLEPT LAST NIGHT! From eleven thirty til about six this morning, I SLEPT! Wow. I love Unisom. Hopefully, I'll take it another few nights and maybe get back into a sleep pattern. There is just too much going on right now to be able to actually shut my brain down long enough to fall asleep to begin with. Thank you to everyone who sent comments on my insomnia. It is something I deal with regularly but then again, I have weeks where I sleep very well. It just crops up when you least expect it.
Whew, I need more coffee!!!
